Mario Prata, a former professional player in Portugal, has spent almost 20 years in New England soccer. He served as the Assistant Coach of the USA’s Under 14 Boys National Team (2004-2011); as a Region 1 Staff Coach and ODP coach; the Youth Development Director for MLS’ New England Revolution as well over a decade as a Staff Coach for the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association.
Prata spent his youth with famed European and Portuguese club Benfica and has worked the better part of the last two decades in coaching education and in various coaching roles in the Northeast. During his decade long Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association tenure Prata assisted with the development and updating of that state’s coaching courses and related curriculum. Holder of a US Soccer “A” Coaching License as well as the NSCAA’s National Diploma, Prata speaks Spanish and Portuguese as well as English.
