“National Youth” License

Candidates must be 18 years old and hold a National "D" License or have the approval of the State Director of Coaching.

36 Hours Total: May be held over 2 Weekends with a Friday night session and all-day sessions on Saturday and Sunday

- - The National Youth License focuses upon the nature of children and the adjustments adults must make to coach them. Each day of the course, the focus is upon one of the traditional soccer age groups of U-6, U-8, U-10 or U-12. The course combines both classroom (theory) and field (practical) sessions and concludes with written, oral and practical examinations.

- Content of the Youth Module is the same as the US Soccer Youth License Course and is age specific, U6-U10
- Focus of the certificate courses is for the parent coach & new coaches who have little or no experience in the game of soccer.
- The mission of the Youth Module is to provide the most current and advanced information on the growth and development of the youth soccer player.

Practical Field Test

- The E-License is focused on delivering content and instructional methods relevant to coacing 9-12 year old soccer players. This course is intended to be the initial license serving as a stepping stone along the nationaol course pathway.
-The coach will demonstrate competency in teaching methods necessary to effectively instruct technique and the application to the game.
- The coach will demonstrate competency in organizing a complete appropriate training session for a soccer team in the basic stage of 9-12 year olds.
- The coach will be familiar with the principles of attacking and defending as applied to a small sided game.

- Prepare coaches to further develop the player's technical abilities and their application within the game for players U14 and up.
- Increase the understanding of the Principles of Play and how they are applied in the game
- Expand the coaches understanding of 11 a-side soccer and the importance of developing a team system that is based on the player's abilities
